About Us

The National Marine Propeller Association was founded in 1992 to address the unique needs and interests of propeller repair shops in the recreational marine industry. Its goals are to foster links and create a sense of community among members in this unique segment of the recreational marine industry, help businesses learn about efficient operations and business management practices, and to improve the standards for the propeller repair industry through the establishment and provision of training and certification. From its inception NMPA developed an Annual Convention to serve as the forum for furthering the mission of the association.

NMPA started in Henderson, Nevada and returns to the state to hold its Convention in Las Vegas each year. In 2015, the association relocated its head office to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where the recreational marine industry has a regional economic impact of $11.5 billion. Florida boasts nearly one million registered boats that range from small runabouts to large yachts. Nationally, propeller shops play an integral part in driving a $121.5 billion industry that employs 338, 000 workers servicing 12 million registered boats across the United States.

    The NMPA logo is the representative image, brand and property of the National Marine Propeller Association. It may not be used without the express written permission by the association. Technical and Sustaining Level Members may use the NMPA logo, the NMPA Member logo, or where appropriate, the NMPA Certified Member logo to highlight their membership in the association.

    Please read the terms and conditions below before downloading the NMPA logo. Your download of the Logo is considered acknowledgement that you have read and agree to the below  guidelines.

    Members agree to the following terms and conditions for use of the NMPA Member Logo:

    • The Logo may be used to identify your company as a NMPA member on websites, signage, business cards, brochures, company vehicles and other publicity or display materials.
    • The Logo may not be used by non-members, including former members whose membership has lapsed due to nonpayment of dues.
    • The Logo may link ONLY to the NMPA home page. You may not use the Logo to link to other pages on the NMPA website or any other websites.
    • The Logo must be used in its entirety and may not be altered in any way, including proportion, color, element, type, etc. You may not animate, morph or in any other way distort the appearance of the Logo
    • The Logo may not be used on official documents such as sales contracts, or official disclosure documents provided to potential or actual clients or purchasers of a member company’s services or products.
    • The Logo may not be used on any web site that is in violation of any applicable laws or governmental regulations.
    • NMPA reserves the right to disallow any use of the Logo.
    • Any unauthorized use of the Logo may result in legal action.
  • Management

    NMPA is managed by Connell Communications, an association management, public relations and marketing company with offices in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Fort Mill, South Carolina. Gordon Connell serves as the association’s Managing Director.
